Make your local knowledge more useful

Turn local concerns into shared priorities
It can be difficult to know where to raise a concern or how to turn an idea into something useful. Our community outreach creates a welcoming first point of contact for local residents, local representatives and neighbours from other backgrounds. We listen to what people notice in their area, identify common themes and explain practical ways to participate. In Harrow, this may begin with a conversation at an event, an activity sign-up or a suggestion about a shared environmental issue. Community leadership remains central while people from wider communities are invited to contribute around concerns that affect everyone.
Move from a conversation to local action
Good engagement should lead somewhere clear. After hearing an idea or concern, we can consider whether it suits an organised activity, community discussion, issue report or collaborative event. You can contact us as an individual or on behalf of a community group. We may ask where the issue is, who it affects and what kind of contribution you have in mind. Continued supporter contact then helps us share relevant opportunities rather than letting a useful conversation end after one meeting.

Frequently asked questions
Who can take part in community outreach?
We welcome local residents, people from other backgrounds and community representatives who want to discuss a local concern or activity. You can contact us with an early idea, even if you haven't yet worked out what the next step should be.
What information should we share about a local concern?
Tell us the area involved, what you've noticed, who may be affected and what outcome you hope to see. If you're suggesting a joint activity, it also helps to explain who may wish to take part and the type of contribution they could make.
Does outreach always lead to an organised event?
Not every conversation will require an event. A concern may be better suited to an environmental report, a meetup discussion or a future clean-up. We'll consider the information provided and explain the most relevant participation route available through our group.
